Batala Mundo

Batala Mundo refers to all of the different Batala bands over the world. Mundo means 'World' in Portuguese. 

Members can easily visit from one band to another and occasionally we all get together to play for really big events. One of the biggest events in the Batala calendar is Nottinghill Carnival, where each year, roughly 200 of us come together to share Batala tunes with the streets of London for the parade.

There are now 46 bands (and counting) spread over 16 countries across the globe. This includes 9 in the UK (Bristol, Bangor, Bermo (Barmouth), Galez (also Barmouth), Lancaster, London, Manchester, Mersey & Portsmouth.
